About Jay Rittker
Jay Rittker was born and raised in Germany, where
he received his formal education. After working for a large coffee
company in his hometown of Bremen for a few years, Jay had the
desire to be involved in Christian ministry.
That
opportunity came when the American missionary and evangelist T. L. Osborn, established an office in Germany Jay joined the
Osborn Foundation, and worked for them in Germany and England for a
number of years, before being transferred to their headquarters in
Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1971. A few years later, Jay joined another international
organization, also located in Tulsa, which was
primarily involved in humanitarian work in third-world countries.
It was there that he learned to combine humanitarian work with the missionary work of spreading the gospel.
In 1997
Jay established the Omega Foundation, a Christian humanitarian organization
which is dedicated to ministering to the spiritual as well as
physical needs of people, primarily in underdeveloped countries.
The Omega Foundation
has many programs to help the underprivileged, but at the heart of Omega's mission is CHILDREN and the operation of children's homes in several countries.
The
Omega Foundation has established several mission outreaches in India
and the Philippines and also supports several existing missions in
other countries. The Omega Foundation took over the "Bal Yesu
Bhavan" boys home in Nasik, India from another mission agency, and
has been able to keep the doors of that home open. This
home continues to rescue boys from the streets and turn them into
productive citizens with high moral values.
Seeing the changes that take place in the lives of these children is
what motivates Jay to continue and
expand the ministry of the Omega Foundation.
